Safha: Quran Mushaf (“Safha”) is made by Canopus Labs Ltd. In short: Safha collects no information about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and no third-party code that does any of these.

What stays on your iPhone

• Your bookmarks, the page you were reading, your khatm plan and your settings are stored only on your iPhone. If you back up your iPhone, they are part of your backup, which Apple keeps for you. We never see them.
• Khatm reminders are scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications. No push service is involved, and nothing about them is sent to us.

Downloading the mushaf

When you tap Download the first time, and about once a day after that, Safha fetches the mushaf’s text and page layout from our server (safha-sync.canopuslabs.co.uk). The server passes the request on to Quran Foundation, so Quran Foundation sees our server, not your device.

As with any download, your device’s IP address reaches our hosting provider, Cloudflare, while the request is handled. We use it only to deliver the download and to stop abuse with a request limit that lasts a minute, which is in our legitimate interest in keeping the service working. We don’t log it or keep it. Cloudflare may show us totals, such as how many downloads were served, that can’t identify anyone.

Children

Safha is suitable for all ages, and it collects no information from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Because we keep no information about you, there is nothing for us to give you a copy of, correct or delete. If you have a concern, email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
